Services in Denver

We do four things: we clean drains, we jet them, we mill out scale, and we inspect lines with a camera. That’s the whole list, and it has been for fifteen years.

We don’t dig and we don’t replace sewer lines. Not as a policy we might revisit — we don’t own an excavator, we aren’t set up for it, and we have never sold a single one. Which means when we tell you your line doesn’t need replacing, we aren’t turning down work. We never had it to sell.

There is a saying in this trade: “If you do maintenance and repair, you cannot stay honest.” We decided a long time ago to take that seriously.

What we do

NASSCO certified sewer inspections

A camera down the line, a written report coded to the national standard, and video you keep permanently. We were the first in the Denver metro area to hold the BSDI certification, and the certified person is the one running the camera — the standard requires it. $175.

Hydro jetting

Water instead of steel, from a trailer-mounted machine with 500 feet of hose. It’s the right tool for grease, sludge and anything soft — and the only tool that reaches the far end of a long line, because cable runs out at about 250 feet. $475.

Cast iron pipe restoration

Scale in old cast iron builds inward for decades until the bottom of the pipe is flat and the bore is half what it was. A cable bores a hole through it; a carbide flex-shaft mill takes the wall back to bare iron. We have been running one since 2018. $475.

Root intrusion removal

Roots get in at the joints, which is why clay lines get them and plastic almost never does. About a third of the lines we put a camera down have them, and the flex-shaft mill takes them out. Then we come back a year later, before they are heavy enough to back the line up. $475 the first time, $225 a year after that.

Clogged drains and sinks

A drain is anything that isn’t the sewer mainline: the kitchen sink, the bathroom sinks, the tub, the shower, the washer, the floor drains. Those get cable, sized to the line, and two questions on the phone usually tell us which of the two problems you have before anybody is dispatched. $175, up to an hour with 75 feet of cable.

Four machines, because there are four different jobs

Most companies arrive with one machine and use it on everything. We carry four cable sizes, a flex-shaft mill and a trailer jetter, which is the only reason we can tell you honestly which one your line needs — including when the answer is none of them.

There’s a full account of what’s on the van on the equipment page, down to where our own equipment stops working.

If you’re holding somebody else’s report

Email it to us at ourdrainandsewer@gmail.com with the video link. Cam prints the report, reads it and watches the footage herself, before anything is quoted. You’ll get a straight answer on whether what’s written there is real.

Half the words on a sewer report sound worse than they are, and several aren’t valid without a number attached. There’s a plain-English guide to all of them on what your sewer inspection report actually means.

And if the report turns out to be right and the line really does need work, that part isn’t ours — we don’t repair and we don’t dig. But we have written up what the choices actually are, how a spot repair differs from lining and from pipe bursting, what none of them fix, and what the price genuinely turns on, on our page about sewer line repair options. You will be better armed talking to whoever does the work.

What it costs, and where we go

Every price is published and the same for everyone — no membership scheme, no negotiated rates, no quote that changes once we’re in your basement. The full price list is here, and the towns we cover, with and without a trip charge, are on our service areas page.

Estimates are free. Cam answers the phone on (720) 435-7315, Monday to Friday 8 to 5 — she’s the only one who does, and she has been since we started.

Family owned and operated, and run on one rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. That’s why we’ll tell you when your line doesn’t need the work.
