I’ve been cleaning drains and sewer lines in the Denver metro for over twenty-eight years. I started at colorado sewer in October 1998 and worked there for ten years. Then I worked at mile high drain for 2 years, then started Our Drain and Sewer Company in 2010.
A few years back I got tired of living in the city where I worked, so we moved our family up to Longmont. The work stayed where it was. My technicians live and work in the Denver metro area — when you call, we’re not driving down from somewhere else. We’re already close.
So the address on our paperwork says Longmont. But these are Denver pipes, and we know them, because we’ve been working in this city for over quarter of a century.

We’ll Tell You When You Don’t Need Us
The thing that brings most people to us is a quote they didn’t want to hear.
A sewer inspection comes back bad. Somebody tells them the line needs replacing and the number is fifteen or twenty thousand dollars. Often there’s a home sale on the clock and real pressure to just sign.
Sometimes that’s the right answer. Often it isn’t.
So we put a camera down the line before we quote anything, and you watch the same footage we do. If the line is clogged, we’ll tell you. If it’s scaled up, we’ll tell you. And if it’s fine and you don’t need the work — we’ll tell you that too, and we’ve done it plenty of times.
One customer wrote that we videoed his mainline, found it in good shape, and told him he didn’t need the cleaning he’d called about. That saved him about $300 we could have taken.
We’d rather have the next ten jobs than the one you didn’t need.
We Check Our Own Work
When the job’s done, we run the camera again and record it.
You see the line clear. So does your inspector, your realtor and your buyer if there’s a sale involved. Our inspections are NASSCO certified, which is the standard lenders and title companies ask for.
That’s why we don’t get callbacks. There’s nothing to argue about when both of us watched the same video.
We Still Carry the Heavy Machine
When I started in 1998, 11/16-inch cable was the standard for sewer mains. Everybody ran it. Over the years most companies moved to 5/8, and plenty run half-inch now.
Nothing changed about the pipe. Sewer mains are the same size they always were and roots are exactly as determined. What changed is that an 11/16 machine weighs two hundred and sixty-five pounds, and carrying that down a basement staircase and back up again at the end of a long day is real work.
Our day-to-day mainline machine is a flex-shaft now — lighter, reaches a hundred and twenty-five feet, and it mills rust scale off a cast iron wall instead of pushing a hole through it. That’s a genuine improvement and I’m glad of it.
But the old machine still rides on the truck. Two hundred and sixty-five pounds of it, most days going home again untouched — because where roots are concerned nothing beats it, and the day you need it is not the day to discover it’s back at the shop.

Before we bring a single piece of equipment into your house, we lay white tarps over your floors.
It’s a small thing that tells you something. This is drain work — we’re dragging cable and hose through your home. You should get your house back the way we found it, and the white tarp is how you know we mean that before we’ve touched a pipe.

Our Prices Are Published
Most of this trade quotes you on the doorstep, after they’ve seen your panic.
Ours are on the website. A cleared drain is $175. A NASSCO camera inspection with the report and video is $175. Hydro-jetting is $475. You can read the whole list before you call, and you’ll know what a job costs before we start it.
